Well, hello there November! This is a special month for me because November two years ago I made the choice to take one last try before I threw up my hands entirely and said, “You know what? I’m just going to live in this 235 pound body and stop weighing myself.”
I really was fed up. ( Boy, was I fed up!) And I just felt like the effort to reach a healthy weight was for other people. It was somehow out of my reach. I’ve seen person after person show up to TSFL health coaches feeling the same way. I’ve also watched them drop 20, 50, 180 pounds after not believing they could. Just having a health coach believing in them helped them when self-doubt came to call.
Here’s what I’ll say to you: this plan works–if you work it. And the way it has been created, it’s the easiest, quickest, healthiest plan I’ve ever tried to follow. In fact, it doesn’t even really feel like work.
Two years later I’ve maintained my ideal weight and have helped over 50 of you drop more than 2,000 pounds. Here’s to making that 4,000 by 2014. My dream is to see the obesity epidemic which sits at 67% currently and will skyrocket to 90% of Americans overweight or obese by 2023 at the rate we’re going.
In a recent article in “Health” magazine, they showcased five people who had just made small changes to start, sometimes by accident. For example, one woman started walking her dog one evening because he was antzy and felt so much better afterwards, she did it the next night. A pattern built and in a month she was down 15 pounds. Here’s the challenge for your holiday health: make one small positive tweak to your daily living today that you’ve been thinking about. Maybe an extra bottle of water or maybe it’s setting yourself up for healthy sleep by reading something inspirational before you drift off. You know your thing.
